This fabulous ca: 1890 William Kerr sterling belt buckle has been turned into a clasp for a seven strand chrome tourmaline and black opal waterfall necklace.
The sterling buckle features two sea serpents with emerald gemstone eyes and scaled bodies and they meet head to head upon the ocean waves. the buckle measures 5″ x 1 5/8″ at the widest point. I have not altered the buckle in any way except to put keepers on one of the bars so the strands would not move. Hallmarked with the Kerr axe, Sterling and the number 189. There is also the letters “rr” on both buckles.
The chrome tourmaline gemstone strands are accented with black opal at the buckle and fall to 28.5″ +.
