This vintage Matilde Poulat style sterling brooch has been repurposed into a necklace with natural turquoise beads and 990 silver accent beads.
The pre-1948, pristine brooch is a take on the Matl “crown” brooch with turquoise, coral and a single pyramid-shaped amethyst gemstone. There are 7 pendants that hang from the piece, each with a turquoise stone. Measures 2 3/8″ x 2 5/8″. It’s a signed Taxco piece, JDG, but the artist is unknown (ref: Hougart). Also stamped 925, Hecho en Mexico.
18″ in length, the turquoise necklace gemstones are 3mm in size and match the vintage turquoise of the brooch. The accent silver beads are in keeping with the silver work. Finished with a sterling hook and eye clasp.
