This vintage, Matl style brooch has been repurposed to hold nine strands of intense amethyst gemstones and 990 silver beads.
This piece feels very ‘old Mexico’, very flattering and feminine when worn.
The sterling brooch, ca: 1940, is in imitation of a Matilde Poulat piece. The central stone is a flat, rectangular amethyst stone. There are three round coral beads and sixteen round turquoise beads. The section with the coral beads is articulated and attached with rings. From there, three pendants, each with a turquoise cab, dangle and move as you move.
The brooch measures 2.25″ to the end of the dangling pendants. It is 1 3/8″ in width. The gemstone strands are approximately 1 1/8″ in width, when worn.Signed ECR, Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, 925.
