This vintage, handmade Sanborns sterling cuff is in very good condition. The repoussé flower was a common theme in their jewelry, as was the cut out design. If you are not familiar with Sanborn jewelry, they were two brothers who opened a drug store in Mexico City in 1909, which became a department store. In 1935, Fred Davis, the well-known Taxco designer and silversmith, supervised their fine arts and jewelry department.
This Sanborn cuff is 1 5/8" in width. The inside measures 5 3/4" with a
1 1/4" gap for a total of 7". The piece is marked Sanborns, Mexico and Sterling. 51 grams.
