This amazing Enrique Ledesma sterling bangle/cuff is a wonderful example of the Taxco Mid-Century Modernist style of jewelry. The piece has an oxidized background with applied bright sterling pirañha fish playing in waves. The cuff has hinged sides and closes in the back with a secure tongue in grove clasp. There are interior rings for a safety chain and if you would like one, please let me know.
Enrique Ledesma started silversmithing with William Spratling, Hector Aguilar and Castillo and went on to open his own shop becoming a very well known artist. Known mainly for his sterling and inlay work, he also made pieces like this.
Signed Ledesma, Taxco, Hecho en Mexico, 925 and Eagle assay 3.
This piece is in good condition with surface wear you would expect in a vintage piece, but the surface wear does not detract from the bracelet. This wear is reflected in the price. This cuff fits as a bangle and has an inside measurement of 6 3/4" which will fit a 6.25" to a 6.5" wrist very well. It is 1 1/8" at the widest point and tapers to 7/16" at the back. 47.6 grams.
This very special bracelet will ship next business day via USPS Priority mail.
